On September 19, the Center for the National Interest hosted a discussion with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Senator Christopher Murphy (D-CT) on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Senators Paul and Murphy presented their case for a resolution that would block the sale of Abrams tanks and other weapons to Saudi Arabia. Their remarks additionally focused on the state of American-Saudi bilateral relations in general, and their call to reevaluate U.S. military support to Saudi Arabia in light of actions taken by the Saudi-led coalition in the war in Yemen. The Center’s Vice Chairman and former Undersecretary of Defense (Comptroller) Dov Zakheim moderated the event. The event was broadcast live on C-SPAN.
