On Wednesday, September 28, the Center for the National Interest hosted a panel discussion on naval conflict in the seas off of East Asia and U.S.-China relations. The panel included Seth Cropsey, Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute and Director of its Center for American Seapower; Jeff Smith, Director of Asian Security Programs at the American Foreign Policy Council; and Eric Gomez, Policy Analyst for Defense and Foreign Policy Studies at the Cato Institute. The Center for the National Interest’s Senior Director for Asia and the Pacific, Lt. Gen. Wallace “Chip” Gregson, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.), moderated the discussion.
