2016 Distinguished Service Award Dinner Honoring General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr.

The Center for the National Interest honored General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. with its 2016 Distinguished Service Award on November 29 in New York City. Center President Dimitri Simes delivered the evening’s opening remarks. Center Board Member Ambassador Richard Burt was the first speaker after dinner, followed by Dinner Chairman Drew Guff. Center Chairman General Charles Boyd introduced General Dunford. The honoree discussed the principal threats to the United States and the manner in which it can best respond to them. Following his remarks, Center Vice Chairman Dov S. Zakheim and Center Board Member Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad presented General Dunford with his award. Center Board Members Grover Norquist and David Zalaznick were also in attendance. Executive Director Paul Saunders served as master of ceremonies.
