Algeria’s Role in Combating Regional Terrorism: A Discussion with Ambassador Madjid Bouguerra

On Tuesday February 12, the Center for the National Interest hosted a panel discussion with H.E. Madjid Bouguerra, Ambassador of Algeria to the United States. The discussion focused on terrorism in the region and Algeria’s role in combating it.

A neighbor to Libya and to Mali, each of which has struggled with insurgencies and terrorism in recent years, Algeria has confronted significant domestic and regional terrorist dangers. A highly experienced professional diplomat, Ambassador Bouguerra has served as his government’s Ambassador to Germany and to China in addition to working as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseeing the Ministry’s divisions handling Maghreb and African Affairs.
