Dinner with Former Czech President Vaclav Klaus

On December 3, the Center for the National Interest hosted former President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus for a small, off-the-record dinner meeting. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, a member of the Center’s Board of Directors, moderated the discussion with Mr. Klaus. The group discussed the growth of populist movements in Europe, migration from the Middle East and North Africa, challenges confronting NATO and the European Union, and prospects for Western relations with Russia in light of Donald Trump’s election, among other issues.
