Does America Need Allies?

On April 14, the Center hosted a lunch panel with Professor John J. Mearsheimer and Ambassador Richard Burt entitled Does America Need Allies?  Each spoke about the prevalence of free-riding among American allies and partners and examined alternative strategies the United States could implement in response. The National Interest’s Editor Jacob Heilbrunn moderated.
