Dinner with Dr. Celeste Wallander

On February 17, the Center organized a small, off-the-record discussion of U.S. policy toward Russia with Dr. Celeste Wallander, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russian Affairs on the National Security Council staff. Center President Dimitri K. Simes moderated the discussion. Participants included Center Chairman Charles G. Boyd, former Ambassador to the United Nations Zalmay Khalilzad and former Assistant Secretary of State Richard Burt—both of whom also serve on the Center’s board of directors—and former Under Secretary of State and Ambassador to Moscow Thomas Pickering.
