A New Direction in U.S.-Russia Relations?

On 7 March, the Center for the National Interest hosted a panel discussion on the Trump administration’s policy options in dealing with Moscow as well as the Center’s new report “A New Direction in U.S. Relations?“, edited by Center Executive Director Paul J. Saunders.

Speakers included:

– Nikolas K. Gvosdev, Professor of National Security Affairs, Naval War College, and the author or editor of several books on U.S.-Russia relations and other issues, including a history of political Islam;
– Michael Kofman, Research Scientist, CNA Corporation, and an expert on Russia’s military forces and defense policy; and,
– Matthew Rojansky, Director, Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson Center, a specialist on U.S. policy toward Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union as well as founder of the Ukraine Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace during his prior tenure there.
